Liberty Sanctuary is a leading equine nonprofit dedicated to protecting America’s most vulnerable horses and banning the slaughter of our cherished American equines. We rescue equines from the slaughter pipeline and offer comprehensive care, training, and adoption programs. Our national advocacy efforts include launching SAFEACT.org to support the Save America's Forgotten Equines Act (SAFE Act, HR. 3475) currently in Congress. Our work has been featured on ABC News, Fox News, Good Things Utah, Good Day Utah, Salt Lake Tribune, Park Record, NPR, and more. Our mission is to help ban the export of American equines for slaughter. We rescue and rehabilitate vulnerable equines from the slaughter pipeline and work to share their stories and create awareness for their plight and inhumane circumstances through advocacy. The slaughter industry feeds an underground of black market business all which take advantage of the horse; America’s most noble animal. The American horse stands for freedom. Because of the horse, settlers were able to explore the country and head west. It’s unfathomable how this gracious animal which has enabled the country’s progress has fallen victim to greed, severe abuse and too often an unjust and cruel demise. We support the Save America's Forgotten Equine Act and have launched SAFEACT.org through our advocacy arm, EquineIQ. We aim to be a voice for vulnerable American horses by promoting this legislation and developing other humane solutions to protect and manage America's equine population.
