IN SANCTUARY - Aurora is a sweet 2013 mare with a stunning Strawberry Roan BLM Mustang. She was captured in Elko, NV and also spent time in Idaho. Her freeze brand is 13628974. She came to us from the notorious Fabrizius kill pen in Eaton, CO where her name was "Teacher." We were told she had been starved before even winding up in the slaughter pipeline. She came to Liberty deeply fearful of humans, and while she remains reserved and cautious, she is making quiet progress as she watches and learns from the more experienced horses around her. With the guidance, Aurora has begun the first steps toward building trust. While she still has a long way to go before she’s ready for adoption, we believe that once she learns humans can be kind and safe, she will be a willing and devoted partner. Named after the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights, we bless this beauty with the freedom of the skies.
Aurora is thoughtful, sensitive, and observant. She takes comfort in her herd and watches everything closely before making a move. She thrives in a calm, predictable environment and benefits from patient, quiet interactions.
Anyone with a heart can appreciate what Aurora has been through and it's an honor to care for her and to help build back her confidence even if it takes forever. She is a sweetheart and we are just so pleased to be able to give her comfort. Aurora’s journey is one of quiet resilience. Watching her take small steps toward trust has been inspiring, and we know that with time, she will blossom into a truly special partner.
