ADOPTABLE -  Comanche is the most majestic black 2017 Draft cross gelding rescued from Texas in 2023.  He's an introverted horse and there's a lot that goes on behind those soft eyes. He may have worked as a pack horse in his former life, but has clearly experienced trauma that has made him less trusting of humans. It is unknown if he has any previous experience under saddle. Comanche has had time to decompress and start learning to trust humans again. Ashley has been chronicling his journey to help bring him out of his shell and he is now open to approaching humans to see what they’re all about. Once he accepts that humans are safe and will no longer hurt him, he will be a generous partner for a loving human. Comanche is a rare true black with no white markings and an expressive eye. He stands 16 HH tall with a lighter build and more refined head and neck than a typical Draft horse. 

Comanche is curious, quiet, and focused. As he rebuilds trust around humans he is becoming more confident in coming out of his shell and approaching people. He is mid-level in the herd.
