Dolce is a 2014 miniature horse with a striking black body and white face that makes her impossible not to love. Though small in size, she has the energy and personality of a much larger horse and thoroughly enjoys being active and engaged. She is comfortable going on mile-long walks, trots nicely in hand, backs, moves off the lead, disengages her hips, and pivots. Dolce is spunky, expressive, and enjoys interaction, especially when given a job or purpose. This little mare thrives in a quiet environment and would make an excellent emotional support pony for larger horses, whether at home, while traveling, or accompanying them on walks. She provides companionship and confidence and enjoys being part of a routine. Dolce gets along well with bigger horses, donkeys, and sheep. She stands quietly for both the veterinarian and farrier and is well maintained. Dolce is fully up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and has had her teeth floated this year. Dolce can be difficult to catch in large, open spaces but settles and becomes much easier to handle in smaller, more contained areas. She would do best with someone who understands ponies and appreciates her intelligence, energy, and affectionate nature. She was rescued in 2025 from a Texas kill pen and arrived at Liberty with a braided mane and big personality. She is halter broke and can be convinced to participate in the shenanigans we cook up for her!
Sassy princess
How resilient Dolce is. She has lived happily with mini donkeys, sheep and our horses.
Our precious rescues are available for adoption to vetted and qualified homes. If you are interested in adopting, please reach out to us at info@libertysanctuary.org. Please let us know who you are interested in adopting and why. We would like to get to know you and see your facility so it would be great if you could send us a video tour of your set up. You will be asked to list your veterinarian, farrier and trainer if applicable.
Each Liberty horse comes with Ashley Dudas' Equine Partner Promise and a 1 month subscription to The Savvy Equestrian online learning platform to support you and your new horse in your initial stage of development.
