ADOPTABLE - Delilah is a cute 2022 Appaloosa mare who has been an absolute joy to be around. She is sweet, kind, and very cooperative, with a friendly, “in-your-pocket” personality that makes her easy to love and enjoy. Due to a fused front foot, Delilah is best suited as a lifelong companion horse. She stands quietly for both the veterinarian and farrier and is well cared for. Delilah is fully up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and has had her teeth floated this year. Delilah enjoys liberty work and is happy to walk, trot, lope, back, disengage her hips, and pivot her shoulders. She will carry a saddle; however, because of her foot, she is not suitable for
carrying a rider over 80 pounds for extended rides.
Delilah would make a wonderful companion or light-use partner for someone looking for a sweet, gentle mare to enjoy groundwork, liberty work, and companionship for years to come. Delilah was rescued from the Wind River Reservation in 2023. She's definitely one to enjoy watching out there. She loves every horse she gets to know and loves being brushed and especially cookies!
Sweet little lady! She has a birth defect where her front left coffin bone and short pastern are one single bone, without a coffin joint. She's not in any pain but she looks like she’s walking on her heel because the angle of her foot can’t be fixed with trimming. We don't believe her condition will worsen as long as she's cared for properly and not ridden.
She's got a kind heart, a good head and a lot of try.
Our precious rescues are available for adoption to vetted and qualified homes. If you are interested in adopting, please reach out to us at info@libertysanctuary.org. Please let us know who you are interested in adopting and why. We would like to get to know you and see your facility so it would be great if you could send us a video tour of your set up. You will be asked to list your veterinarian, farrier and trainer if applicable.
Each Liberty horse comes with Ashley Dudas' Equine Partner Promise and a 1 month subscription to The Savvy Equestrian online learning platform to support you and your new horse in your initial stage of development.
Liberty will co-own the horse with you for its first year. Any horse can be returned to Liberty for any reason.
