Porter is a 2017 bay mustang gelding currently under saddle and truly a special horse. He is a kind, loving, and sweet-natured gelding who may take a little time to warm up to strangers, as is typical of mustangs, but forms a deep bond once trust is established. Porter excels working at liberty and thoroughly enjoys it, yet he performs just as well under saddle. He has been ridden indoors, outdoors, in round pens, and out on the trail. He loads into a trailer without issue and handles new environments with a thoughtful, willing attitude. With a confident, patient leader, he works through obstacles and continues to grow in confidence. He is looking for a dedicated companion and lifelong partner to continue his journey. Porter stands quietly tied, stands well for the farrier and veterinarian, and is easy to handle for routine care. He is currently barefoot and does well without shoes, though hind shoes may be considered if he will be used heavily as a trail horse. He is fully up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and has had his teeth floated this year. This is a quality mustang with a solid foundation, a great mind, and a lot of heart. Nick named "Party Boy," Porter is always ready for a good time! He has the brain to train and is a very confident and playful and inquisitive. He’s the brave one of the group and is mid-herd in the pasture pecking order.
